Spring Styles

May 6, 2010

Lately, we’ve gotten a bit away from Asian meals. I guess we’re streaky like that. We’ve been eating a lot of Italian food., and we’re OK with that. We’ve been loving our bread and our red wine. Recently, we’ve made some great “antipasto” sandwiches with meat-free cold cuts, mushrooms, artichokes, olives, peppers, tomatoes and herbs. They’ve been stupendous really and don’t take much time to put together.  Also, during our recent trip to New Jersey we made asparagus risotto and bagna cauda.

We’ve been having a lot of Mexican food lately, too. We both love our refried beans, and we often add beer, broth, herbs and hot/enchilada sauce to perk their taste. We made soft tacos recently with grilled veggies and cilantro sauce to accompany our tasty re-frijoes.
