Animal Sanctuary Weekend
July 21, 2009
Patrick and I visited two animal sanctuaries this past weekend. We had planned on just visiting Catskill Animal Sanctuary to help paint their new goat barn. The experience was so great we decided to stop at the nearby Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary the next day for a tour. Both places featured beautiful settings. The animals were loved and the people were so dedicated to working there. It brought me so much serenity knowing the animals are not destined for pain and that they will live out their lives in peace. It is pretty clear in our photos that we really enjoyed the pigs. It surprised me how much I liked spending time with the turkeys. They are such gentle and loving animals. I could go on and on about the weekend and the animals we met, but want to post the photos, which really tell much of the story, I think.
